How Can I Prevent Cat Kidney Problems?

I had a cat which was dead 2 years ago from chronic renal failure. He was on Iams drive. It is just around the recall of terrible pet food, but the vet said it was probably genetic. He also had stones. I went to the welfare base and Natural Balance (wet), Weruva (wet), and cook meat sometimes. Is this all I can do to prevent cat kidney problems?

Dog Kidney Problems?

When I got out of the shower this morning, I noticed that my dog had knocked over my coffee table and dried up a small bottle of eye drops for contacts. I immediately took to my vet. They did a CBC W / profile and an examination of stool. When I picked up my vet told me he needed to talk to me because they found something on my little boy.

Did Your Dog Have Problems Associted With Pet Food Recall?

The latest problems discovered on liver and kidney problems. I think my dog had other problems due to foods that got recalled. I did take all my canned food back to my local store and exchanged it for new cans. I have switched from the Nutro to Eukanuba Sensitive Skin and my dog has almost cleared up completely. I had tried several different formulas of the dry Nutro Natural Choice with her only getting a tablespoon of wet mixed in the food very rarely. My dog was still having the skin problems associated with a itchy red spotty and blistery rash on her belly that kept relapsing despite all shampoos, special foods, and medications she was on.
