How to Help Cat With His Ear Problems?

My cat Johnny is one year old and he’s been always having problems with his left ear since a very early age. He always scratches his left ear angrily and makes noises, as if it being in big pain for him. I checked his ear for itch-mites, since my other cat had those once, but no sign of any desease. Can it be middle ear inflammation? Or it just a bad habit?

It’s probably mites, the vet can check with a microscope and see things that you can’t with just your eye. Another possibility could be a yeast infection. One of my dogs gets one every now and then so he has drops to use when it starts to bother him.
There are some vaccinations your cat could use by now so give in and take him for a visit.

  2. my older cat had something wrong with her ear, we just took her to the vet and they gave us these drop things to put in her ear, it was taken care of in less then a month, took like 2-3 weeks.

it’s probably ear mites, also can be allergies.
there are all kinds of allergies. to outdoors and indoors
and even food allergies. one of my dogs get ear problems.
and the vet say its not even mites but she does have very bad
Food allergies. my best advise take her to the vet
and if it mites there is slution you can put in her ears..
there is also meds if she has any ear infections.
please don’t make her suffer. if not treated she can go deaf
    if it is mites..
TAKE HER TO THE VET AND GET IT TREATED.
    sometimes they can be painful.

my cocker get ear infections sometimes due to their breeds.
    again, TAKE TO THE VET.

    good Luck.

  4. I think you should just take him to the vet and they’ll just give you some ear drops for him. That shouldn’t be too bad.

I would seriously consider seeing a vet. They can give you an actual diagnosis….and possibly medication (if it’s an ear infection).

  6. Don’t know what an itch mite is, but sure do know what damage an ear mite can do to your kitties health.
Usually when kitty has his back foot in his ear and showing allot of discomfort its a good sign of ear mites with an accompanying ear infection.
Is there a unpleasant odor coming from kitties ear?
Here’s the problem you can treat the ear mites but if the cat has an underlying ear infection it may cause deafness and possibly death if the infection goes to the cats brain.
B est bet is leave this one to the pros. take kittie to the vets and have it checked out, chances are he will give you an oily based ear flush and some antibiotics.
