My cat had have a blockage removed last month. He was found to have struvite crystals.
The vet sent me home with some Royal Canin S/O Uretic wet. She said he should stay on the prescription food for all his life.

When the one of my cats contracted the Respiratory Infection, I took her to the vets and they gave her an antibiotic and I treated all cats. They were all okay until the one of them shows symptoms again about two days ago. I have not tried yet any at home remedies.
Are there any remedies for Cat Respiratory Infections? I have 3 kittens and I do not want to take them to the vet each time they or one of them gets this again. (more…)
I have 2 cats. One has been having strong anal gland smell on/off for about more then 1 month. I’ve read online and see some videos that expressing the glands is fairly easy to do and it reduces the possibility of infection. Being that I have a physical disability, I am not able to do it myself. So, was wondering if there’s somewhere I could have it done every so often. Any ideas? (more…)

We have adopted a couple of stray kittens. They at first seemed to have a cold in both eyes or possible irratation due to fly bites. However, now it looks like that in one of the kittens it has gotten worse. They always seem to have tears or puss like substance coming from there eyes. Today one of the kittens had one eye matted shut that I forced opened to look into so I could see what was going on in that area and there seemed to be some puss. It is almost like they have “pink eye”. I can’t afford to take them to the vet right now since I just started this new job but will if I have no other way to make them well. Does anyone have an idea of what this can be? It does seem to be contagious since two of them had it first then a week later the other had it. They were found in two different places so they are not from the same mother. I thought about maybe using some type of antibiotic cream like Neosporen, would this hurt them? Please help! (more…)
It seems the only thing that kills my dog’s mites are shot of Ivermectin, and it means I need to go to her vet office once a week. I cant really afford to spend (shot, partial Dr. visit) a wk. doing that. Thanks for all your help. Oh yeah she is about 50lbs. if that helps…thanks again. (more…)
My cat has been licking her back legs like crazy lately and her fur is noticably thinner and shorter around her back legs now. She doesn’t have fleas. Coud this just be dry skin and if so do you think adding a little vegetable oil to her food will help. She terrified of the vet and I hate to put her through a visit if I don’t have to. Thanks! I just adopted a kitten an she has an upper respiratory infection and a cold. I am giving her proper medicine and keeping her away from my other cats, but can my dog catch the viruses from her also? My sister has had her kitty for about 9 months and it is the most awful cat I have ever encountered. She growls, bites, and scratches everyone besides her and her boyfriend. But just last week, Seala (the cat) bit my sister and penetrated her skin, it will probably leave a scar. Is there anything she can do to put a stop to this? I know cats can be very independant and stubborn. I told her to get some blood tests to rule out any medical condition. Any more suggestions I can give her?
