My dog has very bad ears and fungle infection. I have taken him to the vet and he gave me some medicine that was supposed to help him approximately in 2 weeks and flush to clean his ears out good but look like nothing help him. He just acts so bothered by his ears and is constantly shaking his head to the point where he gives himself scars at the tips of his ears

My 1,5 year old rat terrier likes to napping beside me on the couch. Once in a while I sudden smell of urine, and she will get up quickly and lick her bottom. But there’s a never a wet spot. She’s housebroken as well and goes out regularly. It can be that dogs can have leakage problems or she has urinary tract problems? She looks perfectly healthy otherwise. (more…)

My new dog is nice, she’s a good companion for me, and she gets along with my other dog. Question is, why is it when i pet my old dog she wants ALL the attention? When I took them together for a walk this afternoon she was pushing my old dog out of the way? Like pushing to hurt it seemed like. And I mean she’s new we got her just yesterday so I don’t blame her to much for that but how can I fix this and will she grow out of it and stop do like this? (more…)
How do you make your dog’s immune system stronger?
My dog has demo mange. I hear it is an immune system problem. I’d like to address the underlying immune system issue without trying to treat symptoms of the issue by drowning him in medicines that can further polute his immune system. (more…)
My dog had both ear drums ruptured almost 3 years ago but still his ears smell.. always shaking his head and very sensative to touch. I try cleaning them once a week but nothing helps. Any ideas, home remeadies for dog ears, over the counter med.. help.. (more…)
I have a maltese that is almost one year old and yesterday I weighed myself then weighed my maltese and there was just a 7.5 difference.
I found a stray dog (mix of llasa apso/poodle/terrier!!!) in a rubbish bin, almost 1,5 years ago. He was in a terrible shape, no hair, and stank to high heaven. The first vet I took him to, diagnosed mange (demodex) so I did the treatment (dips) for 12 weeks, and then he tested negative.
But 2 months ago I tried a different vet, as I wasn’t so happy with the other one. He found that the dog has Leishmaniasis, so I am treating with Allopurinol.
He also has mange again, which apparently is because his immune system is not working properly.
He also has infected paws, the antibiotics do not seem to be improving the condition much. (more…)
My dog has horrible breath you can smell a mile away. Part of it is she has kidney failure, which I recognize causes foul breath. But she’s also 10 years old and never really had any dental care before. In the last few months, about the time her bad breath became noticeable, she developed nasty tartar on her teeth. She will probably have to be anesthesized to have her teeth cleaned. I understand at her age and health, there is a risk of death. How much should I expect to pay for this type of teeth cleaning?
