The most common sign is if your cat stops using its litterbox. :-)

Other signs also include blood in the urine, urine smelling bad (or at least, worse than urine smells normally ;-) ), a tender lower abdomen, lethary, and crying or straining during urination.

  2. Urinating in places where they usually don’t or seeming to strain when trying to urinate. If you see any blood in the urine, that is a sign too.

    Male or female cat?

male– straining to urinate– a few drops, not more– maybe some blood — can be HIGHLY FATAL and horribly painful to male cats–take to vet at once- they can trea tthe cat– you will have to feed a vet-recommended food so this does not come back, and watch the cat to make sure there is no re-occurence of this terrible problem.

Female– peeing on the floor – sometimes blood. take to vet at once — dangerous– will need antibiotics and TLC

Hope your kitties stay well or if they are ill, get well soon.

Off to the vet if the cat is noisy, or urinating in the wrong places, blood in the urine etc. The cat is in pain, take him or her to the vet.
